A Peek Into Our Week: Our Hawaii Life

Last Sunday called for pictures because we were all looking cute! I love these dresses I found at Target! And mine has POCKETS!

A friend of ours just got back from Texas and she knew the way to our hearts…Chick-fil-A sauce! It just so happened that I had nuggets and waffle fries in the fridge for such a time as this. We’ve been on the hunt for a good mock-fil-A sauce and this one here comes really close. But man, it felt good to dip those nuggets into the REAL DEAL. What made it especially good was that we ate it on a Sunday!

Karalyn’s business, Stuck to the Stickers, is booming! She’s gotten orders from all over the country! She’s suuuuuper close to her goal of being able to buy a Cricut, so if you’re on the fence about purchasing, go for it! Here’s her latest set, but she’s always updating and adding! Check them out here!

We gave up on public school out here after the first day was a disaster. We’ve been waiting on our homeschool curriculum to come in and the kids have been subject to Mommy-Homeschool, which is basically me using that UMHB education degree to school my kids! Enter: Abeka! We’re excited to get started tomorrow with our new program and hoping that all nine boxes of books and curriculum will get these kids educated!

Speaking of homeschool…how about PE at the beach? Sounds like a plan to me. And I’m just throwing these in here because my girls are gorgeous. They officially turned ten-and-a-half this week and I just adore them.

The big news of the week was my surgery. I’m not sure how I managed to tear my meniscus, but it happened sometime over the last year or so. I had a nice little nap and woke up with a very sore knee. Hoping I’m back to normal soon! A sweet friend from church brought me roses and cake – everyone should have friends like that!

I got this text from one of my sweet kids while I was laying on the bed in pre-op. A mother’s work is never. ever. ever. done. (But I will admit that I texted her first just to chit-chat. Her dad would’ve gladly answered her question!) #momlife

I couldn’t be prouder of this girl behind the keyboard right here. A few weeks ago, she asked me to teach her how to play the keyboard for worship. Then all of a sudden, she was playing! I’m blown away by how fast she picked it up and can’t wait to see how God uses the gift He’s given her!

I saved the best for last. If you know this guy, you know what a beautiful heart he has for the Church and what a precious pastor he is. Our church honored him today because October is Pastor Appreciation Month! If your church hasn’t honored your pastor yet, can you be the one to make that happen next week? Pastors always give and serve and love so much, but this year with COVID, it’s been especially rough. I promise, they’ve done SO MUCH behind the scenes that you will never know about. They’re not doing it for the praise, but the words of affirmation are fuel in their tanks, so share those words generously! So send your pastor some love this week! And if THIS pastor is now or has ever been your pastor, send him some love too! He’s my favorite pastor for sure.
